It has been a marvelous 2013 at Madonarts; as the colorful changing of the seasons, so were the many visitors who came together to be inspired by one another and the beautiful surroundings of the Midi-Pyrenees, the nature, the characteristic buildings of Madonarts, the dance-hall, studio's, camping-grounds and forest, the sunset in the evening, playing, making music together, create.
Many of the guests will return this year too. New groups as “Chantier International” who are restoring the boulangerie will return with their kids. There is still space available in spring, the month of June and all the months after August. Our doors are open for painters, musicians, actors, poets and dancers and all the wonderful people you meet on this page.
The wonderful women from lesviesdansent were present once more. Their sacred chants and wild dance-trance beats rang out and echoed through the valleys untill midnight.
5Rhytms is a movement meditation practice devised by Gabrielle Roth in the late 1970s. It draws from indigenous and world traditions using tenets of shamanistic, ecstatic, mystical and eastern philosophy. It also draws from Gestalt therapy, the human potential movement and transpersonal psychology. Fundamental to the practice is the idea that everything is energy, and moves in waves, patterns and rhythms. A soul journey, moving the body, releasing the heart, freeing the mind, one can connect to the essence of the soul, the source of inspiration in which an individual has unlimited possibility and potential.
The interest in attending permaculture courses at Madonarts was overwhelming. For the third year in a row attendees of different kind of plumage settled down, most of them camping on the field or in the forest. Groups can make use of their own kitchen located below the dormitory. The roofed terrace in front is a great place for seminars, to have breakfast, lunch and dinner and of course hanging out in the evening.

Permaculture
is a branch of ecological design, ecological engineering and environmental design which develops sustainable architecture/human
settlements and self-maintained agricultural
systems modeled from natural ecosystems.
"The primary agenda of the movement has been to assist people to become more self reliant through the design and development of productive and sustainable gardens and farms. The design principles which are the conceptual foundation of permaculture were derived from the science of systems ecology and study of pre-industrial examples of sustainable land use."

Sometimes you think “it can not be better then this”, however the “Festival de la Paix dans le Monde 2013” was beyond all expectation. Music performance, dance, poetry and parties, swimming in the river, hanging out on the hill at sunset, plenty of lovely food, laughter and love.
Chantier International
These are real international projects that bring together volunteers from around the world. They work about 30 hours a week and set up a whole program of inter-cultural activities. In about 2 years time various groups of young people will complete the construction and then we will bake delicious bread for our guests.
